Near Five Points. Just a cool creek with big rocks, park near the foot bridge on Oxford Rd. No parking restrictions. No rest rooms or food.
Oxford Rd is between Overbrook or Dunhill Dr and Kenmore or Reaves Dr. It is a stretch of road that does NOT have NO PARKING signs and parallels a beautiful little creek with rocks. Royster St is on the other side of the creek where there is parking also. It is near a beautiful green way that borders Crabtree Creek, which would be a beautiful place also to paint but I will have to show people when they come. Its near 5 Points in Raleigh, with several cute cafes there.

There is parking just up the hill on the right. Half of the parking is in the shade so come early to get the best spot. Up the hill from the parking is the bathroom area and the paved path to the creek.
Trail Race Fishing Area Directions
The park is 9.8 miles from the intersection of Six Forks and Old Wake Forest Road so it is not far.
Off 540 exit at Falls of Neuse Go North-away from Raleigh.
Or you can go out Falls of Neuse from central Raleigh
You will go through 5 lights beyond the 540 overpass. The road will start to curve and go down hill. Just before the bridge take the left into the Trail Race Fishing Area. This is .8 miles past the Falls Dam entrance. Don't turn into the Falls Dam entrance.
Paddle Creek Store will be on your left just before the bridge. The road into Trail Race Fishing Area is adjacent to the store and slightly hidden by the hill. If you slow up next to Paddle Creek you will see it.
